Hugely influential Austrian artist, designer, theoretician and teacher. He joined the Bauhaus in Weimar as a student in 1921. As a teacher he was primarily responsible for the geometric, asymmetric style we now know as Bauhaus’. Bayer drew the Universal Alphabet that so influenced Paul Renner, among others.
